Ham Radio Meters
Ham radio meters connect with the portion of the radio spectrum that is allotted for amateur (ham) use. License privileges for ham radio operators include the use of frequencies with a band, used primarily for local communications.
Some ham radio meters were designed and manufactured for specific meter bands, but did not sell well because the band was not used much. Certain meters are allocated for private, Federal Government, and amateur radio community use.
Different meter bands offer various advantages from longer-distance to lower noise level. Nowadays, while not as widely available as 2 meter or 70 centimeter equipment, 1.25 meter equipment is easier to obtain as handheld and mobile equipment becomes more popular with ham radio operators. You can find new and used meters, with or without cables or antennas, on eBay!
